General Definition: Reporting to the Corporate Director, Finance this position is
responsible for developing, implementing and supporting the delivery of financial products and services to meet the needs of the organization. Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate policies and standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee day to day operations by providing leadership, guidance and support to the Finance team by directing, planning, managing and executing against deliverables in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all external and internal financial policies and regulations.
- Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
- Generate timely and credible comparative reports which provide insights into the financial results of the operations.
- Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs and take advantage of opportunities.
- Interpret and recommend changes based off mid-month, month end, and year-end reports of financial budgeting and future headcount needs of the department.
- Project, analyze, and make recommendations regarding expenditures and revenues. Perform trend analyses to explain the impact of activities.
- Review budget performance monthly and identify/investigate significant variances.
- Prepare cash flow projections, cash balance reports, and other periodic financial reports and statements needed by executive management team.
- Monitor cash flow daily to ensure adequate cash to cover upcoming expenses.
- Prepare the annual budget for functional areas.
- Prepare tax forms not completed by accounting/audit firm such as 1099 forms for independent contractors and sales tax filing form.
- Schedule and assist independent auditors with the annual audit of the financial operations.
- Oversee entry of financial data into the accounting system, which includes the general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll.
- Establish appropriate procedures for, and review, all accounts payable transactions, including verification of charges, assignment of accounts, check preparation, monthly bank statements, credit card accounts, and transaction file maintenance.
- Establish appropriate procedures for, and review, accounts receivable/sales transactions, including preparation of deposits, entry of credit card settlement receipts, preparation of various invoices, and collection of outstanding accounts.
- Ensure the adequacy of accounting practices and handling of funds to assure conformity with accounting standards.
- Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
- Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
- Develop and update the accounting manual and related standard operating procedures to provide guidance on the processing of transactions within the system of internal controls to safeguard assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Masters Degree in Accounting preferred

Training:
- Must be able to pass Title 31Training
- Minimum of 10 years experience with progressively responsible experience in the accounting/finance field
- Experience managing a diverse team - from entry level employees to professional staff level employees
- Prior public accounting experience, or a similar foundation in accounting
- Demonstrated success in a hands-on managerial role to a team of Finance/Accounting professionals
- Deep experience in creating reports that help inform business decisions
- Financial analysis and derivatives experience required
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result
- Current CPA designation preferred
