Our Headquarters office in Virginia Beach, VA is searching for a Human Resources Clerk I to work on-site.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter new hires into Costpoint and Employee Navigator, State New Hire Reporting and eVerify.
- Learn to enter payroll changes, benefit premiums & 401(k) contributions into Costpoint each pay.
- Reconcile the benefit invoices each month and coordinate with Finance with any questions.
- Prepare new hire packages.
- Learn orientation procedure to serve as back-up.
- Follow up for missing forms from new hires.
- Follow up for missing forms if a new form has been implemented.
- Scan and electronically file new hire forms into Personnel Files.
- Learn benefits for any employee questions.
- Set up food truck schedule, advertise, make posters and post.
- Help to set up meetings for Operations – ordering lunch or purchasing refreshments, coordinate clean-up.
- Newsletter contributor (Employee Spotlight article & more).
- Ensure compliance posters are current and up-to-date – order and post when needed to physical areas, as well as SharePoint.
- Each year post new W-4 forms.
- Work with Safety Officer on workplace accidents and preparing accident reports.
- Make Welcome Signs for Visitors.
- Purchase, route cards for sympathy, get well, address and mail.
- Plan monthly birthdays, buy treats, supplies, make characters with names, set-up, clean-up.
- Help to plan annual and holiday events.
- Assist with other Employee Relations/Engagement type activities.
- Help to plan & coordinate events (showers, birthdays, parties).
- Set up Car Detailing and advertise and coordinate with Detailer.
- Backfill front desk when needed.
- Handle Hiring Banner on Gate at Owl Creek and Hiring Banner at Lynnhaven (coordinate hanging and ordering new banner when tattered).
- Assist with partnerships with local colleges (e.g., ECPI) and discount program.
- General faxing, scanning, filing, copying when needed.
- Track benefit brochures for new hire packages and order when needed.
- Assist with apparel order and pick up order when ready.
- Help with Community Outreach programs (e.g., Adopt-A-School).
- Inventory soda and water in HR storage room and The Edward Teller Room (aka The Green). Order when needed.
- Coordinate one-on-one employee 401(k) meetings with Financial Advisor. Remind individuals and follow-up to ensure schedule is being followed.
- Make welcome signs for new hires for their desk or their workspace.
- COVID-19 clean when Janitorial Specialist is absent.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Work Experience Requirements:
Previous typing, data entry, and spreadsheet experience using MS Office – Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook.
Educational Requirements (or equivalent):
High School
Working Conditions:
Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM, On-site.
Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting of 20 lbs.
