Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our organization and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Process and record incoming payments accurately and timely.
- Reconcile accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions in compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies or inquiries.
- Utilize accounting software such as Ceridian or Quicken for transaction processing.
- Support payroll functions as needed, ensuring accurate employee compensation records.
Experience
- Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting practices.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting principles is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in corporate accounting or a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
