Collections Account Representative I - Loss Recovery
Job Summary
The Collection Account Representative I - Loss Recovery is responsible for making outbound calls and taking inbound calls to resolve delinquent accounts while providing a remarkable customer experience. This team member has contact with customers, other Company departments, Vendors and outside agencies.
JOB DUTIES
- Make outbound and take inbound calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations
- Execute day-to-day strategies and actively contribute to center performance objectives
- Proactively support goals and objectives that positively impact GM Financial's strategic alignment to create a customer for life
- Ensure actions are in compliance with company policies and laws
- Initiate contact with customers, authorized third parties and vendors to resolve accounts
- Maximize productive time by utilizing effective time management skills
- Accurately and efficiently document collections and servicing activity in the appropriate system of record
- Utilize collection tools appropriately
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conform with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of effective customer service techniques
- Basic knowledge of state and federal laws (e.g., repossession and bankruptcy)
- Basic knowledge of the Automobile Industry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
- Knowledge of GM Financials core business functions, policies and procedures
Skills:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and interact collaboratively with internal and external customers
- Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgment and logic when solving problems and making decisions
- Detail oriented with accurate data entry skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively and apply effective questioning and listening skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Commit to continuous improvement of business, customer and employee environments
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 0-2 years previous experience in collections or customer service preferred
Salary
The starting pay for this role is: USD $20.00/Hr. At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.Salary : $20
