Job description


The Voice Technician plays a key role in the delivery of GMI services. The focus of this role is to deliver assigned projects on time and within budget, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction. The Consultant works under the direction of a senior level consultant who provides oversight and guidance.

The primary function of this role includes the design, development, documentation, analysis, and testing of voice and collaboration systems to ensure business directives have been met. The Consultant will be required to work with client staff, review and implement system configurations, develop supporting documentation to meet client design specifications and perform knowledge transfer to GMI clients.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate and promote an understanding and commitment to the GMI culture and core values
  • Work with client and internal teams to obtain business requirements, assess systems or programs and implement technical solutions
  • Build credibility with clients by setting and executing against expectations in line with project scope
  • Evaluate technology tools and develop knowledge to deliver assigned duties
  • Ensure accurate project time reporting and accountability to project tasks
  • Identify and foster industry relationships to promote the GMI brand


Process is a foundational component of our service delivery and guides our team to success. The Consultant will:


  • Work directly with the internal engagement lead and client to review projects prerequisites, review and gather requirements, develop and deliver solutions
  • Collaborate with team members to drive client success through innovation, experience, and QA of peers’ work
  • Continuously improve our work product and process through project or task execution experience
  • Participate in client facing technology and/or project related discussions


Technology expertise is why our customers trust GMI. We deliver custom solutions based on specific customer challenges. The Consultant will:


  • Work with the environment that includes Cisco Unified Communications Suite


QUALIFICATIONS


Education


A bachelor’s degree in CS, Math, Engineering, MIS, CIS or related field is preferred but not required


Skills and Certification


Vendor or industry technical certification(s) are preferred (CCNA/Voice)

Must have previous engineering or implementation experience with three of the following technologies:


  • Cisco Unified Communications suite
  • Call Manager
  • IM & Presence
  • Unity Connection at least one year
  • Expressways
  • Emergency Responder
  • SIP, MGCP, PRI voice routing


UC chops. CUCM, IM&P, Unity


  • A minimum of 5 years in relevant roles is preferred
  • Ability to develop and present security material to all audience levels
  • Accountable self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated performance as a security practitioner and consultant managing complex projects in numerous enterprise environments
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Analog skillset. Knows what a buttset it, can do punch downs, comfortable going out and troubleshooting

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
