Technical Specialist - Automated Metrology

This role will support a large scale automotive OEM to lead install and commissioning of automated scan cell equipment

Responsibilities

• Help ensure smooth launch of Automated Scan Cells at multiple Tier 1/Tier2 part Suppliers that meets OEMs aggressive schedule
• Consult with OEM to help ensure schedules set by different groups are achievable and will meet critical milestones
• Consult with OEM, Part Suppliers, Equipment Supplier, and Inspection Jig Supplier(s) to ensure agreement between individual schedule of each group and ability to meet overall project deadlines
• Ensure complete rollup of Supplier status for reporting at OEM and Supplier evaluations
• Consult with OEM and Suppliers on required part fixture design review including ergonomics review
• Consult with OEM, Cell Equipment Suppliers and Part Suppliers on Cell Installation and programming at Part Suppliers
• Consult with OEM and Part Suppliers to help determine if facility meets all minimum facility requirements for scan cell installation
• Work with Part Suppliers to ensure that data collection and transfer method meets OEM requirements
• Consult with OEM and Supplier on Scan Cell Operation, programming and Usage
• Work with Part Suppliers on creation of work instructions for all operations related to scanning process
  
  
  
  

Requirements

• BS in Engineering and 8 years of industry experience
• Expertise in Automated scan cell equipment install/commissioning (Cube-R experience preferred)
• Expertise to evaluate and set direction for required fixtures' design for automated metrology
• Experience with PolyWorks is a must
• Experience managing project deliverables in a timely manner involving multiple stakeholders
• Experience with Fanuc programming or similar is preferred
• Frequent travel to client and supplier sites required
