Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
- Perform data entry tasks related to payroll processing and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and reconcile accounts as necessary.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and UltiPro for payroll management.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable department to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues in a professional manner.
- Generate reports on payroll metrics and assist in audits as required.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP) and payroll systems (e.g., Kronos, UltiPro).
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles.
- Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with journal entries and account reconciliation processes is preferred.
