POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide general human resources support with the day-to-day administration of HR policies, benefits, employee relations, training, programs and procedures to ensure consistent application of policies and practices. Additionally, this position is responsible for the recruitment, onboarding and training to ensure compliance with established Agency policies, employment laws, State regulations and governing Agencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Administer the Agency’s recruitment and onboarding process, work with department management to project future hiring needs, plan and execute accordingly.
2. Review employment applications and examine work history, education, training, and job skills to evaluate appropriate fit for Agency values and culture and respective job.
3. Schedule, coordinate, and conduct employment interviews for job applicants with department supervisors and managers.
4. Manage student internship, volunteer, and clinical rotation request. Coordinate Agency paperwork and track for compliance.
5. Assist with development, review and implementation of policies, procedures, protocols, and job descriptions; ensure their accuracy and compliance.
6. As part of the credentialing team assist with professional credentialing and privileging processes for licensed staff.
7. Understand and provide coaching on employment law and regulation with a focus on the continual improvement of knowledge base in the human resources discipline.
8. Provide coaching, skill development, management direction, and policy interpretation.
9. Assist with the coordination of communication to the workforce. Provide problem resolution to complaints received by employees and partner with leadership to produce desired outcomes.
10. Manage the FMLA, STD and LOA process. Educate employees and managers on the leave process to ensure compliance.
11. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics; such as leave benefits, compensation, health benefits, and employee concerns.
12. Respond to unemployment claims, investigations, appeals, and participate in unemployment hearings.
13. Monitor employee attendance and ensure proper documentation is issued in accordance with Agency standards.
14. In collaboration with other team members assist with staff support activities.
15. Ensures compliance with established policies, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), State licensure and other regulatory standards.
16.Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with employment laws, regulations and best practices.
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
- Previous experience working in a hospital, clinic or physician’s office preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups to employees and the public.
- Bi-lingual preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May require sitting for a long period of time. Some bending, lifting, stooping and stretching required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone and calculator. Some lifting may be involved, up to 35 pounds.
