What You'll Do:
As the Controller, you'll play a vital role in managing and maintaining the financial integrity of Good Place Holdings. You’ll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, cash management, and financial analysis to support our growth. You’ll also lead with a talented team, drive process improvements, and ensure our financial operations are efficient and transparent.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading the accounting function and team, ensuring alignment with our charter and values.
- Foster a culture of accountability and transparency, ensuring all staff understand their role in the overall financial system.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Preparing consolidated financial statements and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee closing processes for Holding company and the smaller brands.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Work closely with external auditors and manage the annual review process.
- Managing cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets.
- Collaborate with CFO on developing budgets, financial forecasts, and providing strategic insights.
- Ensuring payroll and benefits compliance.
- Build predictive models to forecast financial performance for the company to utilize in longer term decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required).
- CPA (Preferred but not required).
- At least 5-7 years of general accounting experience.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Sage Intact and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
- Leadership experience and a passion for developing teams.
- Strong communication skills in complex subjects.
- Ability to align financial goals strategically and provide strategic insights.
- Eagerness to work with and contribute to a team moving to create and steward Good Places!
