Position Summary
We have a great opportunity for a Controller to join our management team. The Controller for Hickory Harvest Foods will play three very important roles: (1) a steward, managing risk and preserving assets, (2) a hands-on operator, running an efficient and effective finance operation and (3) a catalyst, helping to drive operational improvements.
Reporting to the President of the Company, this highly visible position will work closely with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Quality to help drive growth and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting operations including regulatory/accounting rules, inventory management, cost accounting, internal controls verification, and revenue and expense recognition.
- Manage daily accounting functions (A/R, A/P, GL) and external IT.
- Prepare and publish timely financial statements.
- Responsible for cash management and risk management activities.
- Develop reporting for management with relevant data, information, dashboards, metrics & incisive commentary vital to the decision-making process to affect positive change.
- Manage relationships with banks, and outside accountants.
- Develop policies and processes to ensure the controllership delivers on stakeholders’ foundational demands for accurate and timely financial information while simultaneously refocusing the function to aid in the growth equation.
- Work closely with Director of Operations to help drive operational improvements, assist with implementing production standards and productions goals.
- Provides analysis for capital investments, cost pricing decisions, new business/customer acquistion and contract negotiations.
- Develop efficient budgeting and financial reporting processes so that the business is scalable.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business. CPA or MBA is preferred.
- Progressively responsible related experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
- Working knowledge of inventory management and cost accounting
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite, Sage 100, Tableau and Access
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial data to business leaders that can easily be translated to actionable plans.
