Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at GSS MN Luverne. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to our residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
- Assist residents with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and transferring
- Obtain and record vital signs, provide psychosocial support, and other personal care to assigned residents
- Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
