Job Description:
This is an entry-level position for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. As a Nursing Assistant Trainee, you will be enrolled in a formal nursing assistant program and will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to develop confidence and competence as a caregiver. You will assist with basic health care needs and activities of daily living, communicate changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse, and document client care when appropriate. This role requires an ability to do detailed work correctly, handle stress, demonstrate critical thinking, and prioritize responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
