Semi Driver
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Pick up and deliver donated goods in a safe and efficient manner between stores, plant, and warehouse.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (NOTE: Qualified persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Reasonable accommodation will be made.)
- Drives tractor-trailer or straight truck to destinations as requested
- Service the needs of stores and donation centers in a safe, courteous manner.
- Load/unload supplies or product going to and from stores or donation sites, as needed. Deliver and pick up donated goods from the stores or donation sites.
- Perform daily vehicle maintenance and safety inspections, keeping supervisor informed of all needed repairs.
- Maintain driver Electronic Log Device (ELD) according to ICC regulations.
- Report all incidents/accidents on the appropriate forms and notify appropriate supervisors.
- Comply with all traffic laws as known or posted. Comply with all state and/or city regulations concerning accident reporting.
- Follow Goodwill policy regarding smoke free environment by not smoking in plant, stores, trucks, or trailers.
- Perform work activities in conformance to Goodwill Values Statement, which includes the values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Stewardship, Learning, Teamwork and Entrepreneurial Spirit.
- Immediately report any wrongdoing, unethical or improper conduct, fraud, fiscal mismanagement or misappropriation of funds, etc. (Refer to the Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure for instructions on how to report.)
- Encourage and do not hinder in any way an employee making a report pertaining to Goodwills Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure or making a report of work injury.
- Ensure no employee is retaliated against in any way as a result of making a report related to Goodwills Corporate Compliance Program Policy and Procedure or making a report of work injury.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license issued by the State of Nebraska with Class A CDL. Must have good driving record.
- Must meet insurance requirements (i.e., 19 years of age or older).
- Minimum of 6 months to one-year driving experience of comparable size/type vehicle owned by GIGN and in loading trucks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Skill in communicating in spoken conversation - adequate volume speech. Skill in writing, reading and mathematics. Ability to understand and follow federal, state and local traffic rules to qualify for a commercial driver license (CDL, Class A).
- Normal hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
- Visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision within normal range and accurate color vision. Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes and/or textures.
- Be able to move safely about work area and be ambulatory on all surfaces and situations.
- Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs. is usually involved.
- Bilateral use of hands and foot/feet for repetitive movement and have the ability to coordinate hand and feet movement to operate vehicle such as operate levers, push pedals and steer vehicle.
- Full active range of motion of all extremities, reach above and below shoulders, and turn head 180 degrees.
- Ability to bend/squat/twist/kneel as needed and climb steps, ladder and ramps frequently.
- Ability to work in conditions that have many extremes, such as winter cold, summer heat, inside and outside.
