Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

SUMMARY
Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides high-level confidential support to the Finance Department and organization, including handling and maintaining confidential information and documents on a daily and on-going basis.
Verifies all requisitions for appropriate signatures.
Process checks for payment.
Input ACH payment data into accounting software.
Codes invoices and inputs data into accounting software.
Prepares reports and invoices for payment and approval. Runs reports to review and for approval.
Prepares credit application forms.
Balances vendor statements to the Accounts Payable accounts.
Maintains A/P files.
Answers all A/P inquiries.
Updates and maintain Rent Trucking, Recurring Invoice Excel reports.
Prepares bank deposits when Accounts Receivable Clerk is out of the office.
Responsible for Petty Cash for Finance, disbursing fund and reconciling fund.
Prepares and reconciles accounts payable reports for month-end closing activities.
Sets up and maintains vendors.
Assists special projects, as necessary.
Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures.

This job has no direct supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
