The Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for attracting, hiring, and onboarding top talent to support food production, logistics, and operations in a high-volume catering environment. This role ensures a seamless hiring process while maintaining compliance with aviation regulations and labor laws. Bilingual fluency (English & Spanish) is required to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to fill roles in food production, warehouse operations, logistics, and customer service.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, career fairs, and industry partnerships.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and schedule hiring manager interviews.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and workforce planning.
- Maintain relationships with industry networks, recruitment agencies, and trade schools.
- Coordinate pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and security clearances required for airline catering personnel.
- Facilitate bilingual new hire orientation sessions to ensure employees understand safety procedures, hygiene regulations, and operational protocols.
- Ensure new employees receive necessary uniforms, ID badges, and access credentials.
- Act as a point of contact for new hires during their first months to ensure a smooth transition.
- Continuously improve onboarding processes to enhance employee retention and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and hiring metrics.
- Ensure all hiring processes comply with aviation security regulations, labor laws, and food safety standards.
- Assist in employer branding initiatives to attract talent in the airline catering sector.
- Support HR projects related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, and workforce planning.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required for effective communication with employees and candidates.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, or HR, preferably in airline catering, hospitality, food service, or logistics.
- Knowledge of aviation security requirements, food safety regulations, and labor laws.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software.
