In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating credit risk and supporting investment decisions by analyzing financial data, assessing asset values, and conducting diligence across a variety of industries, including retail, consumer products, and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth diligence and gather relevant data to verify the accuracy and completeness of information provided by potential borrowers.
- Utilize established methodologies, models, and templates to evaluate financial information with guidance from senior team members
- Research market trends and industry dynamics in sectors such as retail, consumer products, and industrial markets to assess risk factors and support underwriting decisions.
- Identify and analyze key operational and financial performance indicators to assess asset values and overall credit risk.
- Perform detailed company and industry analyses, focusing on financial metrics such as inventory productivity, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash flow.
- Analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Assist in assessing credit risk during underwriting and contribute insights to investment decision-making.
- Prepare comprehensive credit approval memos and presentation materials that highlight key findings and support well-reasoned investment decisions.
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance in all documentation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop a strong understanding of industry nuances and asset values to refine risk assessments over time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant analytical experience, preferably within a deal-driven, private equity, credit, or asset-based lending environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced, complex capital investment or risk assessment environment is highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in MS Excel and MS Word, with the ability to develop models, perform financial analysis, and create well-structured presentations.
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, and apply sound judgment in complex deal environments.
- Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, asset valuation methodologies, and key performance indicators relevant to asset-based lending and capital investments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
