The Director of Marketing is accountable for the strategic planning, direction, and execution of Marketing goals and initiatives for an assigned Gordon Food Service(GFS) Division. Ensures that relevant marketing solutions and resources are provided to support the needs of key customers and internal and external teams. How you will make an impact: Assumes accountability for the delivery of quality marketing to US Distribution at the divisional level. Ensures effective and strategic sales/marketing activities are delivered to key customers through the customer-facing support teams - including but not limited to culinary, chemical-beverage service teams, business solutions, and non-foods. Responsible for the execution and success of all division sales and marketing-related events, including campaigns, promotions, food shows, trends shows, customer events, industry events, and sales meetings. Ensures divisional collaboration with the local supplier and broker community to drive appropriate utilization, teamwork, and execution of strategies. Serves as liaison to Home Office Teams and Regional Merchandising Teams, representing divisional marketing issues and opportunities. Establishes and maintains relationships with key customers and other internal departments to ensure ongoing understanding of needs. Participates and represents marketing in the creation of the annual division plan. Develops and executes succession and annual marketing plan and assists marketing leaders with development and execution of plans. Develops capital and operational budget for the department. Routinely monitors, manages and controls budget, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action, and develops plans for productivity improvements. Approves projects, campaigns, and initiatives that utilize division resources. Interviews, hires, train, and retain marketing staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them. Performs other duties as assigned. What you’ll bring to the table: Seven or more years of previous marketing experience with two years of previous management experience. Bachelor's Degree in Business, marketing or related field required. Must maintain a valid, unrestricted state driver’s license and safe driving record per GFS policy.
