Job Description: Logistics Manager - Shipping and Receiving 

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee our shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and be able to optimize our processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Attention to detail is crucial for this role to maintain accuracy in inventory management and shipping processes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight of all aspects of shipping and receiving operations. 

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs. 

  • Oversee inventory management and warehouse operations. 

  • Negotiate and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners. 

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. 

  • Analyze data and prepare reports on logistics performance metrics. 

  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics operations with overall business objectives. 

  • Manage and mentor a team. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory. 

  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. 

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • 5 years of experience in logistics management, with a focus on shipping and receiving. 

  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving measures. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. 

  • Proficiency in logistics software. 

  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures. 

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control techniques. 

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements. 

  • Experience in creating FOB pricing. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all logistics operations. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Professional certifications such as APICS CSCP or CLTD. 

  • Experience with lean management principles and Six Sigma methodologies. 

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.
