Job SummaryA part of the training team, this role creates operational training and development programs for our restaurant and specialty brand teams. The position is responsible for designing, developing and evaluating training and other performance improvement solutions to support core restaurant and specialty brand training from a team member level through the restaurant general manager, and above. Primary role responsibilities will be to support brand initiatives, revamp core training and standards execution, as well as support the LTO and test calendars.Essential Functions
- Instructional Design and Development:
- Develop and maintain core training programs to help support restaurant and specialty brand team members, restaurant management, and above restaurant leaders. Make recommendations for revisions or retirement for these programs.
- Develop and maintain training for restaurant and specialty brand teams, to support the marketing-led LTO, test, and off-premise initiatives.
- Develop training solutions that are creative, engaging, and relevant to restaurant and specialty brand team members and management while supporting the needs of the business. Solutions include but are not limited to: design and deployment of all training materials, including job aids – print and digital, eLearning courses and modules, videos, instructor-led, performance support, and mobile-enabled support.
- Design and deploy all operations support materials and job aids (print and digital).
- Partner with Field Training Team on the design and development of New Store Opening support materials [guides, curriculum, etc.]
- LMS Administrators – responsible for all account creation maintenance troubleshooting
- Conduct needs analysis to ensure training content and programs align with the needs of the business and maintain standards.
- Test and evaluate training solutions to ensure performance gap is closed and needs are met.
- Project Management:
- Lead project teams of internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development of new training content and programs.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables using design tools and templates to ensure consistency and timely progress against project milestones. Make recommendations to improve or simplify existing tools and templates as needed.
- Annual program review refresh: core training, development programs, other – partner with Training Development Team
- Leverage internal project management tools and templates to ensure projects are restaurant ready as well as of a high quality, delivered on time, and on budget.
- Strategic Impact and Innovation:
- Participate on cross-functional project teams in support of strategic goals.
- Build relationships with cross-functional team members and franchisees, both inside and outside of scheduled project work, to help gain insight, identify needs and create best-in-class learning solutions.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and technology available that could result in a reduced cost of training, make efficiency improvements to current processes, and make learning fun and impactful.

- Master's Degree, Pref
- 5 years experience in instructional design, Pref
- 2-4 years, Experience working as an instructional design manager, Pref
- Experience working with/in the restaurant industry, preferred
- Experience working in a franchise environment is a plus, Pref
- Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory, with the ability to translate ID jargon and requirements into terms easily understood by non-technical individuals.
- Experience developing blended learning solutions that drive performance improvement.
- Expertise working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Preferred experience with Adobe Suite software, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong eLearning design and development skills. Experience with Storyline, a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to edit content and grammar consistently.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple overlapping tasks for self and through others.
- Ability to collaborate, influence and communicate effectively across various levels of management.
- Experience developing team member and/or management curriculums.
