PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The LMS and Instructional Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) for our casual dining restaurant franchise. This role involves creating engaging and effective training programs, incorporating audio-visual assets, and ensuring that all training materials are up-to-date and accessible to staff across all locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
LMS Management:
- Administer and maintain the LMS, ensuring it is user-friendly and meets the needs of the organization.
- Monitor and analyze LMS usage and performance, providing regular reports to management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the LMS.
Instructional Design:
- Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, videos, and other multimedia content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Apply best practices in instructional design to create engaging and effective training programs.
Audio-Visual Content Creation:
- Produce high-quality audio-visual training materials, including video tutorials, webinars, and interactive presentations.
- Utilize various software tools to create and edit multimedia content.
- Ensure all audio-visual assets are aligned with the brand’s standards and training objectives.
Training Program Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new training methodologies as appropriate.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the training team, restaurant managers, and other stakeholders to identify training needs and develop appropriate solutions.
- Provide training and support to staff on how to use the LMS and access training materials.
- Communicate regularly with management to provide updates on training initiatives and progress.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in LMS administration and instructional design.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and multimedia software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is a plus.
