What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Govig & Associates?
A well-established underground utility contractor and is seeking to add an experienced
Underground Utility Estimator to our team.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water,
sewer and storm on private or public projects
Must have knowledge in MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local
supplements to MAG Specifications
Must have thorough knowledge of the estimating process
Must have excellent organization skills
Must be detail oriented
Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Must be able to work under stressful situations
Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
Experience using various computer systems with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift,
Microsoft Project, Word, Excel
Responsibilities:
The Estimator works closely with the Chief Estimator and is primarily responsible for performing
quantity estimates as it relates to underground utility - water, sewer, and storm
Completes take o' per plans and specifications
Creates accurate take o's from drawings using Planswift
Requests, compares and summarizes quotes from vendors
Estimates production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid
