Accountant Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial transactions related to grain farming, cattle feedlot operations, and agribusiness services
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial record-keeping
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cost reports for diverse farming activities
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate cash flow tracking
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, including agricultural tax incentives
- Collaborate with farm management to optimize financial processes and decision-making
- Assist with inventory valuation, cost accounting, and risk management strategies
- Work closely with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial advisors
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Two or more years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture or agribusiness
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, AgriSolutions, or ProSystem fx
- Experience with cost accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
