Your role at Grabber as Assistant Controller is a unique position with responsibilities to support our corporate office and 23 branches throughout the US and Canada. Grabber offers a friendly atmosphere, work in a global setting, and a great work/life balance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform monthly closing activities including various accruals, allocations, prepaid management, rebate accrual and reconciliation, General Ledger entry, etc. and assists in management of close processes
- Administers employee reimbursement programs (Concur, vehicle)
- Coordination of sales tax reporting and processing and income tax information reporting with parent company
- Supports various AP and AR support functions
- Performs routine reconciliations and assists in verification of internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
- Participates in the annual financial statement audit, including preparation of audit work papers
- Assist in improving financial systems, ensuring data integrity, automation, and process efficiency.
- Performs similar work and research-related duties as assigned
- Address internal requests for financial information
SKILL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management including closing accrual activities and financial reporting
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and related laws and regulations
- Advanced ability to use accounting and related systems, MS Excel, MS Word
