Data Science Manager

This role leads a team of data scientists and analysts in implementing the company's data science strategy. Responsibilities include managing complex data collection and analysis, developing actionable insights, and providing guidance to staff. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in data science, analytics, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of data scientists and analysts to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
• Oversee data gathering, integration, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets.
• Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Utilize statistical modeling, visualization, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
• Manage and prioritize team workload to ensure timely and organized project completion.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals.
• Monitor industry trends and recommend innovative applications of data science practices.
• Oversee budget allocation and ensure adherence to financial objectives.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or computational field (or a Master's degree in a related discipline) with at least 4 years of experience in data science, analytics, or statistics.
• Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in data interrogation, analysis, and interpretation.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and proficiency in open-source data science tools (e.g., Python, R, Spark).
• Experience developing and implementing data science strategies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to diverse audiences.
• Experience collaborating with executives and stakeholders at all levels.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decision-making.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience (direct, indirect, or cross-functional).
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.
