JJob Description: The Accounting Specialist I is responsible for various accounting functions including but not limited to A/P, fuel accounting, retail accounting, various reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and other daily accounting functions.
Reports To: Controller
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all A/P functions including but not limited to
Process invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Perform day-to-day transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, recording and posting accounts payable.
Identify discrepancies with vendor invoices and resolve issues with vendors.
Facilitate timely payment of invoices by due date and according to terms.
Process fuel deliveries, credit cards, customer EFT’s and other retail, banking, and GL accounting tasks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with accuracy.
Identify issues with fuel deliveries, credit cards, and paperwork auditing and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and review various accounting reports for accuracy and auditing purposes.
Assist with store and car wash paperwork daily.
Perform day to day transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, recording and posting entries.
Perform reconciliations and assist with customer chargebacks.
Perform other bookkeeping and office functions or other duties that are assigned by management.
Skills/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, excellent computer skills, effective communication skills.
Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience in A/P functions and in accounting department role,
Proficiency with MS Excel and MS office required.
High degree of accuracy, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
Should be able to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
Uphold company standards in personal appearance, work ethic, and customer service.
Have a can- do and positive attitude in everything you do while working as per GEI principles and guidelines.
