POSITION SUMMARY : The Manager of Human Resources is a key member of the management team and sets the example for Granby Ranch policy and procedures. This position is responsible for management of the HRIS system, employee on and off boarding, administration of benefits, unemployment, EEOC, and other reporting, orientation and training, conflict resolution, recruiting and job postings, maintenance of personnel files, I-9’s, development and execution of employee recognition and tenure programs, updating Employee Handbook and company policies, job descriptions and more. The HR Manager must have the ability to work in a team environment helping in the field during high volume periods, leading by example, and establishing an approachable, open-door, can-do atmosphere and attitude in HR.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain strict confidentiality, and establish appropriate, professional relationships with all levels of staff.
- Lead by example in accordance with the policies and guidelines of Granby Ranch.
- Manage HRIS system, becomes a “super-user” within 45 days on the job to include :
- Ensuring all positions are set up to flow correctly to dept and division in accordance with company budget
- Utilize system functionality to improve efficiency and accuracy with all aspects of the HRIS
- Work closely with Accounting team to ensure bi-weekly payroll submissions are timely and accurate
- Responsible for reviewing all expense reports and other payroll related reimbursements and deductions for accuracy
- Assist with W-2 distribution
- Administration of benefits - medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD, LIFE, sick and pto accruals and usage, Shoes for Crews, Ski exchange program, Gold Pass Calendar, and other ancillary benefits.
- Execute termination process including unemployment form, COBRA, HRIS, PTO payouts, housing rent and deposit refunds, etc.
- Process unemployment claims within required timeframe.
- Execute annual EEOC submission.
- Work closely with Resort Administration team to ensure accurate and timely communication of employee housing details for employees checking in and out of Granby Ranch.
- Responsible for all aspects of recruiting and hiring including establishing and maintaining recruiting channels for staffing 4 season resort operations, management positions, job postings, job descriptions, timely communication with candidates.
- Manage J-1 Work and Travel program including collaborating with management companies, confirming documents, setting up interviews with candidates, managing timely communication with students for travel to and from Granby Ranch, ensuring completion of all required documents, in season check-ins with students and management companies, etc.
- Create and execute winter and summer employee orientations and training throughout the year.
- Manage company uniform inventory – issuing, returning, cleaning, tracking by piece.
- Execute employee recognition programs and end of season celebrations.
- Execute performance evaluation program throughout the year.
- Provide guidance and counsel to managers on employee performance and behavior issues, execute involuntary terminations as necessary.
- Build and manage to annual zero-based budget including labor and expense for HR operations.
- Responsible for 1 - 2 direct reports, working closely with Resort Admin and Accounting teams, coordinating job sharing throughout resort, and collaborating with managers in all departments.
