Front Desk Supervisor at the Grand Adirondack, Lake Placid, NY
Responsibilities:
- Hold responsibility for the front desk budget and order any necessary office supplies
- Supervise current front desk staff while training, mentoring, and supporting front desk staff in delivering exceptional guest experiences and implementing hotel policies.
- Interact with customers both in-person and over the phone, assist with inquiries, and mitigate any guest complaints
- Gather financial information and generate occupancy reports for the general manager
- Direct front desk operations and ensure customer service meets our high standards for guest satisfaction
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently while addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications using hotel management software and phone systems.
- Ensure accurate billing and payment processing for all guests.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests warmly and responding promptly to their needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the hotel.
- Monitor front desk performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
- Address guest complaints or issues with professionalism and urgency to ensure satisfaction.
- May require weekends / holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in front office in the hospitality industry as a front desk supervisor or similar position
- Experience with MS office and Property Manager System – Opera is a plus
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
- Showcase exceptional multitasking, communication, and management skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of front desk operations and guest services in a resort or hotel setting.
- Proficiency in using hotel management software and phone systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
