Position Summary/Purpose:
As a Development Specialist in the Department of Advancement, you will be an essential part of our team. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at fostering relationships, promoting partnerships, aiding in fundraising operations, and supporting the overall mission of Grand Canyon University. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and contribute creativity while tangibly helping the lives of others.
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
Help manage external relationships by coordinating communications and assisting in the execution of donor stewardship strategies.
Contribute to donor prospecting and lead generation initiatives, helping identify potential supporters.
Collaborate internally with various colleges and programs to understand their needs, support their initiatives, and activate on related partnership benefits.
Utilize your strong writing skills to create compelling donor communications, requests for funding, reports, and additional materials.
Support the Division of Advancement in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate GCU’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Strong problem solving skills and creative thinking.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
