The Position: The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing strategic plans to expand market presence. Additionally, this role will oversee the sales team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and optimizing sales performance. The Business Development Manager will work closely with senior leadership and collaborate with internal teams to ensure sales strategies align with company goals and client needs are met. This position will also represent the company at industry events and conferences.

Responsibilities:
Sales Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve sales targets and performance goals.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer relationship management.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to sales representatives to foster professional growth and skill development.
Strategic Sales Planning
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market presence in alignment with company objectives.
- Establish clear growth goals, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure team success.
- Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and decision-makers, ensuring long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand customer accounts and increase market share.
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to address issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
Sales Operations and Processes
- Develop and implement standardized sales processes to drive consistency and efficiency across the team.
- Oversee the use of CRM tools and ensure accurate data entry and reporting to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing and operations, to align sales efforts with broader company objectives.
Market and Industry Engagement
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the commercial refrigeration industry.
- Conducting market research to identify potential clients and opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing sales teams.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development or sales leadership role, preferably within the commercial refrigeration, HVAC, or related industries.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The Location: Grand Traverse Refrigeration is based in beautiful Northern Michigan. This position will be based out of our Traverse City office. This is a great place to live, work and play!
