SUMMARY
This position supervises Facility Engineering maintenance and grounds teams. Will supervise staff and be responsible for facilities in accordance with policy and procedures in a manner consistent with the high level of service associated with the facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Task delegation to achieve maximum results. Reinforcement of policies and procedures. Monitor department expenditures. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all departmental operations. Monitor, take part or perform all interviews. Staff Performance Evaluations. Perform employee disciplinary actions and corrections including hiring and terminating employees. Attend seminars and assigned classes for increased job knowledge. Kronos and employee records information such as absent reports, terminations, and vacation and personal time off requests. Maintaining safety and security in the department including all emergency responses and reports. Assist in the planning and organization of all departmental functions. Ensuring completion of scheduled shift reports and other shift details as required by management. Maintain open lines of communication with other departments and within the department itself. Assist in creating and administering a mentoring program within the department. Oversee departmental training procedures and evaluate effectiveness of the training program.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
Including but not limited to basic hand tools, lawn mowers, snow blowers, snow plow, tractor, golf carts, power tools, rake, ladders, shovels, hoes, gardening equipment, heavy equipment including but not limited to front-loader and other yard equipment.
Will utilize office equipment including but not limited to computer, copier, fax and multi-line telephones.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid, Michigan driver’s license and be insurable by the Tribal insurance carrier.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Will be required to lift up to 75 lbs. and be able to stand and / or walk for extended periods of time. Will also be required to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift, carry and use personal protective equipment.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints and variable deadlines. Must be able to handle making quick, informed decisions under stress.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance. Must practice all safety policies, procedures and standards as set by OSHA. Majority of work performed outdoors in all different seasons and climates - spring, summer, winter and fall, which includes rain, sleet, hail, snow, extreme heat, humidity and other weather conditions. Also Workshop environment containing obstacles and equipment that requires attention to safety.
COMMENTS
Native American and Tribal Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and to take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
