What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAUNDRY MACHINE OPERATOR position at Grand View Lodge?
Position Overview:
Are you the kind of person who loves turning chaos into order and takes pride in making things look fresh and crisp? Do you enjoy a friendly, team-oriented environment where your attention to detail and dedication are valued? Then we have the perfect role for you! As a Laundry Machine Operator, you'll be the hero behind our clean sheets, towels, and other linens, ensuring everything is spotless, sorted, and ready for our guests. Working independently with plenty of hands-on tasks, this is the job for someone who loves a challenge and thrives in a dynamic environment.
You'll report directly to our housekeeping manager, who will guide you with best practices and make sure you're well-equipped for success. If you’re someone who enjoys working evenings and weekends, and you're all about that “perfectly folded towel” life, we want to hear from you!
Duties & Responsibilities:
Machine Mastery: Load towels, sheets, and other linens into dry-cleaning machines or washers at regular intervals, ensuring we always have fresh linens ready to go.
Cycle Savvy: Regulate machine processes, controlling levels, valves, and temperatures to ensure optimum wash results—because you know every fabric deserves the perfect wash.
Tech Tamer: Lubricate and clean equipment, changing machine filters as needed, and alerting the manager if professional repair is required. You’ll keep things running smoothly.
Sort Like a Pro: Carefully sort linens by fabric type, color, cleaning method, or level of dirtiness. Only the best for our linens!
Fold with Flair: Once linens are cleaned, count, sort, hang, and fold them to perfection. Your attention to detail will leave no towel wrinkled!
Spotless Stains: Use your stain-fighting superpowers to remove any stubborn marks with special bleaching powders, steam sprays, and your expert cleaning techniques.
Personal Touch: Mark and identify items with precision, ensuring every piece gets the proper treatment and personal attention.
Pre-Soak and Scrub: When needed, use portable machines or neutralizer solutions to tend to stubborn stains through pre-soaking, spot-cleaning, sterilizing, and scrubbing.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with ease.
Comfortable standing, walking, and stretching for long periods—after all, there's always work to be done!
Excellent organizational skills. You'll be sorting, folding, and cleaning like a pro, so attention to detail is key.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a laundry worker is preferred, but not required. We'll train you to become a linen expert!
Must be available to work evenings and weekends. We know the laundry never sleeps, and neither do you!
