Summary: Local, family-owned retail business seeks responsible, motivated team player to assist in all aspects of accounting department, including General Ledger, AP, AR, and Human Resources administration. Position requires 40 hours per week. Benefits offered include medical/dental insurance, vacation/sick leave, and 401k w/company match.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares and distributes daily sales report.
- Administer employee benefits: 401(k), health ins., worker’s comp., etc.
- Assist AR and AP during peak workload
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Determines proper handling of financial transactions.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Devises and implements system for general accounting.
- Collects appropriate data and prepares sales tax returns and permit applications.
- Responsible for all Balance Sheet accounts to include daily reconciliation.
- Prepare month end journal entries as assigned.
