Position Summary
The Birth Injury Litigation Paralegal is responsible for managing a full case load from intake to litigation to support the Birth Injury Practice Group. The Birth Injury Litigation Paralegal will handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, growing practice group.
The ideal candidate must have experience in medical malpractice/birth injury. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in office. Candidates must be able to travel when required.

The Birth Injury Litigation Paralegal is responsible for managing a full case load from intake to litigation to support the Birth Injury Practice Group. The Birth Injury Litigation Paralegal will handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, growing practice group.

The Birth Injury paralegal will be responsible for the following
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and vendors, communicating professionally over telephone and in person
- Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence via electronic and paper mail for assigned cases
- Relay messages and track all communication with clients
- Maintain case calendars
- Process authorizations requesting medical/collateral source records
- Perform legal research using various research tools, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and various search engines
- File court documents using various state and federal court platforms
- Bluebook, cite-check, and proofread legal documents to ensure proper formatting and compliance with local and federal court rules
- Schedule expert phone conferences and evaluations
- Organize client documents and coordinate document productions
- Assemble and collate medical record binders, exhibits, and legal documents
- Attend case strategy meetings
- Prepare and schedule deposition proceedings including retention of court reporters, preparation of witness files, digesting transcripts and maintaining original documentation
- Prepare summons and complaints, answers to interrogatories, fact sheets, exhibit lists, subpoenas, deposition summaries, and supporting materials for filing with the court
- Prepare trial exhibits notebooks
- Transcribe deposition consultations with experts
- Ability to work well under pressure and regularly meet deadlines
- Ability to read and understand medical records
- Proficiency in researching local, state, and federal rules
- Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Westlaw, LexisNexis and PACER
- Experience using document management and case management systems, such as Needles and/or FileSite/Interwoven
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills·
- Demonstrated proficiency with all phases of litigation process
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- Minimum two (2) years experience in Birth Injury orMedical Malpractice litigation required
- Plaintiff experience strongly preferred
