Our client, a rapidly-growing, entrepreneurial Private Equity-owned, Fixed Income Investment company seeks a high potential, hands on financial professional to join their growing financial management team. The company has a unique niche in the specialty finance sector which has led to significant growth (both organic and through acquisitions) over the past 5 years. They are currently completing another multi-billion fund raise which is expected to double the size of the company over the next 3 years. The company owns one of the largest non-agency, mortgage companies in the US and has purchased over $30 bil residential loans over the last 9 years. Position:
This newly created role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for a broad range of duties over the mortgage loan portfolio and the mortgage operating company. Responsibilities will include financial reporting/financial statement preparation, liaison/primary contact with the external loan accounting firm, process improvement/change management initiatives, liaison with operating company’s senior management/other key people in the operating unit, develop key performance indicators (KPI’s) for senior management and the Board, financial/cash forecasting, coordinate external audit, along with special projects for senior management. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably with some mortgage loan accounting exposure. Prior Public Accounting highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP) and audit processes.
- Expertise in working with financial services/fintech companies, preferably with exposure to loans/lending (originations, purchasing, and funding). Private Credit / Investment Loan industry experience helpful.
- Ability to analyze financial data and review accounting processes and policies.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, growth environment with multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across the operating company and corporate.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
