Job Title: Coordinator of Extended Day Programs                  Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for developing and managing a program to serve the needs of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD students after or before regular school hours. Responsible for developing the curriculum and activities; recruiting, training and supervising staff; managing and working with parents and school personnel.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree
Valid Texas Mid-management or Principal Certification
Two years’ experience in an instructional leadership role
Professional Teacher Certification; Early Childhood preferred
Three years’ classroom teaching experience
Background in education or youth-related field
Evidence of experience in managing a budget and in long-range planning

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of District organization and operations as required for this position

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Maintain a high-quality childcare program throughout the year that includes exceptional customer service.
  2. Ensures that programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
  3. Evaluate and recommend improvement in the purposes, design, materials, and implementation of the program.
  4. Prepares long-range planning for the program.
  5. Coordinates programs at various campuses.
  6. Submits and maintains a budget for the program.
  7. Ensures all State licensing requirements are met for child care programs.
  8. Promotes a positive, caring climate for learning.
  9. Develops training options and/or improvement plans to ensure the best operation of the program.
  10. Works with students, staff, and community members to make them aware of the program and its purpose.
  11. Communicates clearly the District’s goals to the parents and community, and responds to concerns in a timely manner.
  12. All other duties as assigned.
