Purpose of the Position
Reporting into the Vice President, and Chief Information Officer, the Director, Business Systems Analysis (“Director”) is a new, high-profile role on Graymont's Global information technology leadership team. The Director leads a team of Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) focused on enabling change to business processes and assisting Business Process Owners to define requirements and propose new solutions. He or she and the BSAs are the initial point of contact within the Information Systems (IS) function to support Business Process Owners as they improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of their business process across the business. The position will also support Project Owners and Managers who are looking to improve their part of the business with changes enabled by technology. The position works closely with the Director of Enterprise Applications on strategy, proposed solutions, resource management and portfolio management, coordinating the capabilities within the IT function to help shape the solution within Graymont’s technology direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide business process management thought leadership across the organization.
- Establish effective relationships with existing business process owners to support and enable them to effectively own their business processes within their functional area.
- Support business process owners to monitor, analyze and improve the health of business processes and the integrity of the information it generates and uses.
- Act as the initial liaison between the IS function and Project owners and Project managers who are looking to improve their part of the business with enabling technology.
- Collaborate with other IS leadership to propose specific solutions and participate in refinement of the application architecture and direction.
- Support Business Process Owners by researching, reviewing, and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging them.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes across the organization in conjunction with Business Process Owners.
- Analyze process change proposals from both a technology fit and change readiness perspective and collaborate with business process owners on recommendations to mitigate change risk and business impact of changes.
- Responsible for standards and methods for documenting current business processes.
- Participate in information technology strategic planning and prioritization of IT work.
- Ensure that business and systems changes contemplated are aligned with overall Graymont IT direction, integrate with each other, and are undertaken with appropriate functional ownership and resources.
- Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations and information process flow.
- Support Internal Audit and Business Process Effectiveness functions to assess and implement recommended changes.

- Collaborates with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.
- Build strong relationships with business groups and their leaders across the enterprise, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges and opportunities.

- Align strategic IT plans and budgets with business objectives and clearly communicate the IT objectives and associated accountabilities; with options identified, prioritized, justified, and integrated with the business plans.
- Maintain an awareness of information technology and related service trends, identify innovation opportunities, and plan and clearly communicate how innovation will serve business needs.

- Lead and develop a high-performing global internal team of functionally aligned business systems analysts, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and expertise.

Experience, Professional Qualifications & Competencies
- Undergraduate university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or management information systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of business process management.
- Broad knowledge of business processes, technology, and information systems.
- Strong integrated systems experience such as ERP, or tightly integrated best of breed systems as well as integration with many cloud applications.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping.
- Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- Proven experience with change management practices.
