Accountant

What you’ll do… This position is responsible for assisting the finance department management in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department.  This position is responsible for preparing and reporting financial data according to GAAP and in accordance within the established financial reporting cycles. This position is located at the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and would require an on-site presence at least 4 days per week. During the initial training period, full in-office attendance (five days/week) may be required.  What you’ll bring to the team…  Prepare journal entries Reconcile general ledger accounts Track prepaid and accrued expenses Allocate costs to various cost centers Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial analysis and reports Other accounting or administrative tasks as requested by direct Manager What we require you have… Bachelor’s degree in accounting or bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting 2 years experience in accounting Knowledge of accounting standards, conventions and principals High level of detail orientation and organizational skills Strong math and analytical abilities Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel Strong written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast paced environment Ability to maintain confidentiality of accounting information About GEDC… Since 1982, Great Expressions has been at the forefront of dental innovation, setting the standard for exceptional care and unforgettable patient experiences.
