Job Summary :
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, assists with month-end and year-end closings, and supports overall financial operations. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and contributing to the efficiency and integrity of the organization's financial processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Record and manage daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) with precision and compliance.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt invoice processing and payment.
- Process vendor invoices : verify approvals, code expenses, and enter data into QBO.
- Schedule and execute vendor payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers.
- Reconcile accounts payable by ledgers to ensure proper posting of bills and payments.
- Assist in 1099 preparation and contractor filings.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial documents.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and internal reports.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries and accruals.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation calculations.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance processes and drive operational efficiency.
- Assist with audits, special projects, and training of new team members or interns.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling financial data.
