Position Summary:
GLC is searching for a Finance Director, who will participate in project financing initiatives, modeling and underwriting, deal structuring, debt procurement and financial and market analysis services for the development of multiple projects in the hotel/hospitality, mixed use/multi-family, life sciences and industrial real estate asset classes.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to participate in all phases of project execution within the overall GLC team. The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in supporting the entire GLC development team in pursuing development and redevelopment projects. The Finance Director is expected to perform specific tasks as assigned, understand how the tasks integrate with the overall development process and, ultimately, anticipate other duties and dynamics that are important to the overall success of a project.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Perform modeling and financial analysis for all new projects
· Participate in review of loan documents and assist in loan closing process, including lender and other third-party deliverables
· Help manage existing lender relationships and participate in developing new lender relationships.
· Assist development team with in-depth due diligence for project viability through loan closing.
· Assist team to create equity and debt offering memorandums and help coordinate activities to raise equity capital from high net worth and institutional relationships.
· Participate in developing new relationships to provide capital for growing pipeline of projects.
· Work with Developers to underwrite all new development projects, and work with Director of Asset Management and CFO to ensure corporate forecasting includes most recent and up to date information.
· Assist Developers to manage project budget throughout all stages of development, including maintenance and auditing of models in Excel.
· Assist GLC financing team to secure financing for the overall project, to include tax credit and TIF programs, incentives and other non-traditional financing programs, as necessary.
· Assist in preparation of project specific presentations, requests for proposals and financial reports to lender, investors and other relevant third parties.
FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Demonstrated work experience, including at least 3 years of meaningful real estate development finance experience.
· Advanced Excel skills with ability to design/build complex models.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with focus on time-management and prioritization.
· Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
· Must have capability to work under pressure and successfully meet deadlines.
· Ability to be self-directed and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Team player with strong work ethic.
· Strictly attentive to details and accuracy with emphasis on follow through.
· Pro-active in identifying and proposing viable solutions with the ability to exercise sound judgment in all matters.
