What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workforce Development Coordinator position at Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce?
The Workforce Development Coordinator is a critical role to engage the overall support of the greater Coachella Valley business community with the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC). The primary role for this position is to oversee our new Employer Connect Program. The role will also work to develop programs and services for other workforce development needs for the business community. The coordinator accomplishes this by collaborating with employers in the community who are hiring and working closely with our membership team and business community.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Employer Connect Program. Minimum of 80 businesses to be secured by December 31, 2025.
- Recruit both members and non-members businesses of the GCVCC into the Employer Connect Program.
- Collaborate with the Workforce Development and Count of Riverside team to discuss specific employment/education needs of the clients and students.
- Responsible for tracking the impact of the program and services offered.
- Prepare and enter workforce program reports and other data into our database.
- Collaborate to coordinate funding for workforce development initiatives.
- Setup and run booths at job fairs and other regional and local events.
- Provide monthly billing reports.
- Collaborate with community partners to provide additional services for businesses in need of assistance.
- Participate in public relations/community outreach activities as needed.
- Work collaboratively with our membership team to support the overall goals of GCVCC membership.
- Other chamber responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- 2 years of professional experience in government, human services, human resources, or workforce development preferred.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to create programs and services that support workforce developments strategic goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with CRM platforms like Chambermaster a plus.
- Proficient on all Microsoft Office platforms.
