Greater Midland is a growing non-profit organization based in Midland, Michigan, and a leader in providing unforgettable recreation, social services, and wellness experiences that are accessible to everyone. The Greater Midland Tennis Center (GMTC) is a 16-indoor and 23-outdoor court facility that has hosted Dow Tennis Classic for over 30 years, as well as numerous local, sectional, national and college championships each year.
The Position
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Membership and Events has the pulse of the members experience by overseeing member services, events, recruitment, enrollment and retention.
The Director of Membership and Events partners in cooperation with the Tennis Center Leadership
Team to develop and improve processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness of all membership services and events hosted by GMTC.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Create, develop and have oversite of new and existing socials and events.
- Oversite of membership lifecycle from orientation, billing and renewals.
- Oversite of event records and budgets.
- Represent GMTC throughout the GLBR at community events while nurturing awareness of
GMTC and developing sources for prospective members.
- Responsible for providing membership statistics, trends and strategies to Executive Director and
Operating Board to reach membership goals.
- Supervise Member Service Coordinator.
- Design and execute a personal membership engagement plan.
- Project Lead in support of the Dow Tennis Classic.
- In cooperation with Marketing, develop and implement Internal and External strategies providing superior communications to members and guests.
- Enhance tennis program knowledge and customer service expertise of Member Service
Specialists.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Marketing/Communications preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience required working in Member Services role.
- Experience with oversite of budgets.
- Outstanding project and event leadership experience required.
- A passion to create a memorable experience with members by understanding their needs.

Physical Requirements
Regular communication and contact with employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer; standing and moving on court for extended periods of time.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
