SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : The Compliance and Accreditation Manager will oversee the Cancer Registry team and lead and / or assist staff, colleagues, leaders, and other departments or services to achieve program targets and goals related to the Commission on Cancer Quality Program. The manager is also responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance to all other regulated components of Green Bay Oncology clinics, including but not limited to electronic health record regulations and standards and provider credentialing requirements.

The manager will work with operations leaders and evaluate and lead process improvement to improve adherence to accreditation standards and all regulatory or compliance requirements, including ongoing readiness for accreditation, regulatory surveys, medical staff audits, etc. This position will mitigate regulatory compliance risk by focusing on assuring the delivery and corresponding documentation of high quality, safe patient care for Green Bay Oncology clinics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Serves as one of the managers within the core operations leadership group of Green Bay Oncology and holds self accountable to leadership competencies

Leads and supports change and process improvement initiatives, including but not limited to creating standard, efficient, and value-added processes, communicating a clear vision, influencing and motivating others, and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Leads and supports the financial resource functions of the organization, including but not limited to managing expenses, preparing, monitoring, and executing within limits of the budget or other financial parameters, monitors productivity standards, manages the purchasing process, and any other decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility.
  • Leads a team of colleagues using appropriate human resource management, including but not limited to performance management, education and development, hiring and retention, workforce planning, coaching and counseling, and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction.
  • Utilizes process improvement and change management techniques, tools, and metrics to develop and implement detailed action plans to achieve and sustain compliance across all areas of the organization.
  • Manages and leads Registry staff to function as a high-performing team.
  • Serves as the Cancer Program Administrator for the Commission on Cancer Quality Program.
  • Uses leadership and communication skills to engage colleagues, leaders, and Medical Staff to achieve program targets and goals and resolve non-compliant items related to Commission on Cancer Quality Program and other quality models Green Bay Oncology may participate in.
  • Oversees and manages the hospital credentialing process for providers to be compliant in their practice within each health system.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships between departments, hospitals, and applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Provides oversight, direction, research, and education for regulatory and accreditation compliance, including hospital bylaws, local, state and federal agencies, and any other applicable governing entity.
  • Completes the required regulatory and compliance documentation to applicable programs, local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Audits to measure effectiveness of accreditation and regulatory readiness, new processes, or action plans.
  • Interprets relevance of standards in relation to policies and practices and advises clinical areas with policy and protocol development.
  • Manages applicable contracts and service agreements associated with the oncology service line.

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience directly applicable to primary work required.
  • Adequate clinical knowledge and skills to plan, evaluate, and supervise the quality of patient care.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge and understanding of required rules and regulations.
  • Excellent and effective communication skills.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Possess tact, concern for others, objectivity, good work ethic and the willingness / ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to maintain control and act appropriately during stressful and emergent situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • This job operates in a health care setting where contact with patients who may have a contagious illness could occur.
  • Occasionally, exposed to hazardous chemicals
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regularly required to stand, twist, bend and walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires close visual acuity to include distinguishing color and peripheral sight, and ability to speak, smell and hear are required.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and / or crouch.
  • Evening and / or weekend work; extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Rarely lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
