Job Title: Medical Assistant, Front Office Receptionist
Reports To: Physician or Office Manager
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant in a cosmetic surgery office provides essential support to the healthcare team, assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks. This role is integral in ensuring efficient patient care during consultations, procedures, and recovery phases for cosmetic surgery patients. The Medical Assistant will handle clinical duties, front desk operations, and contribute to creating a welcoming and professional environment for patients seeking cosmetic treatments and surgery.
Clinical Duties:
- Assist physicians during cosmetic consultations, treatments, and surgeries, including preparing patients and sterilizing instruments.
- Take and record patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
- Administer injections (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers), IVs, and other non-invasive cosmetic treatments as directed.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring proper positioning and comfort.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, etc.) for lab testing as needed.
- Monitor patients post-procedure and provide post-care instructions.
- Maintain a sterile environment and assist in managing medical equipment during procedures.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments, consultations, and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Process patient insurance information, billing, and payment transactions.
- Assist with patient intake, ensuring forms are completed and medical history is accurate.
- Manage patient communications, confirming appointments, providing pre-procedure instructions, and following up after treatments.
Front Desk Duties:
- Greet and check in patients with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Verify patient insurance information and update demographic details.
- Answer phone calls, schedule consultations, and provide information about procedures and office policies.
- Handle patient check-out, process payments, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk area and manage office supplies.
Patient Care:
- Educate patients about the procedures they will undergo, both before and after treatments or surgeries.
- Ensure patients feel at ease and informed throughout their experience in the clinic.
- Provide compassionate care and ensure patient comfort during their visits.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Follow infection control and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Ensure compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards in the delivery of care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program strongly preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a cosmetic surgery or aesthetic practice is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, cosmetic procedures, and office operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with office management software and EMR systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying medical equipment and supplies as needed.
- Ability to assist in moving patients during exams or procedures.

Pay: $15.93 - $17.00 per hour
