Billing and Collections Staff Accountant

Green Spoon Sales is looking for a positive, passionate, and detail-oriented Billings and Collections Staff Accountant that will play a crucial role in supporting the billing and collections process for the business. This role is located in the Denver/Boulder area. 

The Billing and Collections Accountant is primarily responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts receivables transactions and managing the payment collections of customers. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of day-to-day accounts receivable transactions and procedures, payment collections from clients and the processing, verifying, posting, and reporting of financial data for the use in maintaining accurate accounting records. This role will also be responsible for assisting with month end journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining balance sheet schedules.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

• Assist with the review, verification, and entry of customer invoices into the financial system
• Point of contact for client collections
• Perform other tasks and duties associated with accounts receivables

Collections:

• Review and track open accounts for collections efforts
• Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates
• Identify issues attributed to account delinquency and discuss them with management
• Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports
• Track and monitor that status of any legal disputes related to collections
• Communicating with clients through outbound collection calls and email communication in a professional manner
• Perform other basic clerical and accounting duties associated with the Finance department
• Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, training, and other duties

Accounting: 

• Light month end journal entries (reclassifications, etc.)
• Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
• Detect, research, and reconcile unusual items
• Other ad-hoc accounting duties
• Engage with non-finance team members as needed to understand and better serve company operations

Requirements: 

• BS/BA in Accounting preferred
• Self-motivated 
• Quick response time 
• Strong communication, problem-solving and time management skills  
• Exceptional attention to detail   
• Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams & Zoom 
• Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment 
• Interest in organic food and products  
  
• Must have valid driver's license and proof of car insurance   
• Must own a smartphone and computer to perform duties  
• Green Spoon supplies Microsoft Office Suite  
• Natural food and grocery experience required

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,0000
