HR & Payroll Clerk
Summary: As an HR & Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources (HR) and payroll functions of the organization. This position involves responsibilities related to payroll processing, record-keeping, and providing administrative support to the HR department.
Reports to: Director of Employee Success
Pay range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Type: Full time - 40 hours/week
Primary Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
- Enters, Checks, and Processes Payroll on a weekly basis.
- Collect and verify timekeeping information from employees.
- Ensure accuracy in recording hours worked, overtime, and absences.
- Calculate and process payroll, including deductions, withholdings, leaves, and bonuses.
- Verify accuracy of payroll data before processing.
- Prints and prepares checks.
- Trains FOMs and Crew Leaders on how to digitally time track, edit, and approve time.
HR Support - Provide administrative support for the HR department
- Benefits Administration: Coordinates the administration of employee benefits programs.
- Coordinates employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Update and maintain employee records. Maintain an organized filing system for documents, correspondence, and records.
- Training: Assist in organizing training sessions and development programs for employees.
- Ensures HR compliance - assists in audits to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Process employee leave requests and employee status changes.
- Extend offer letters and follow up on potential candidates.
- Follow up on employees’ benchmarks such as 90 days reviews, trial employments, 60-day eligibility for benefits, annual employee reviews, etc.
- Manage time record system.
- Schedule and manage employee licensing for spray licenses, JS, and backflow testing.
- Order company merch.
- Prepare for recruiting events – company giveaways, flyers, & paperwork.
IT Support
- Technical support - Provide first-level technical support to employees - troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Set up and deploy workstations, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist users in installing, updating, and troubleshooting software applications.
- Collaborate with software vendors for issue resolution when necessary.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Manages phone lines and systems.
Cross-trained in other general office duties as needed.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in HR.
- Minimum 1 year experience processing payroll.
- Bilingual - fluent in Spanish.
- Must have knowledge of business accounting, HR Systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work quickly and accurately, have good judgement, good spelling, grammar, and be able to independently problem-solve.
- Must be able to work approximately 40 hours per week and provide your own transportation to and from the office.
- Must have careful attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Education: Four-year college degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows 10, earlier editions, and latest editions in Microsoft Office applications; typing speed a minimum 70 wpm, 10-key proficient, and proficient in Microsoft Excel. Paycor or other HR/Payroll software experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to sit and look at a computer screen for long periods of time.
