Communications Specialist/Receptionist

Green Valley Country Club is searching for a motivated and creative individual to assist with the coordination, creation, and distribution of the Club’s print and electronic communications.

The Club was founded in 1919. The object of this organization shall be the maintenance of a Club for the social enjoyment of its members by the establishment of a clubhouse for their convenience and comfort. Also, by maintaining grounds for them in order to encourage and perpetuate the game of golf and other healthful outdoor/indoor sports.

Situated on 182 rolling acres in Lafayette Hill, Green Valley offers a private, William Flynn-designed 18–hole championship golf course, three indoor and four har–tru outdoor tennis courts, an Olympic–size heated swimming pool, locker room facilities for men and women, golf pro shop, new state of the art fitness center, two grille rooms with panoramic views of the golf course, a new outdoor dining area, children's dining, playground, playrooms and adult card/game rooms.

Job Description:

Responsible for the coordination of communications for the membership across all departments. Prepares emails, updates to the website, designs and prepares the Club Newsletter. Assists and supports the office staff as required.

Duties and Essential Tasks:

· Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external communications.

· Work with all departments to coordinate preparation of all Club communication via email and social media.

· Assist with Club's website and mobile app, including the calendar and online reservation system.

· Perform general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying and other duties as deemed necessary.

· Being open and flexible to work special events where pictures are needed or additional assistance may be needed.

· Answer phones; learn member names, have knowledge of dress code, dining hours and special events, direct phone call in a professional manner.

· Take reservations for lunch, dinner and special events.

· Receive and screen visitors and guests.

· Helps maintain online member directory.

· Works with the Food and Beverage Department to coordinate special member events.

· Preform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by his or her supervisor.

Job Requirements:

· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

· Self-motivated with the ability to initiate and complete projects on a timely basis.

· Keep abreast of current trends and practices in the club industry.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, website maintenance, and social media platforms.

· Strong journalistic writing and editing skills.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Resort Management, Communications, Public Relations or Related along with work experience in the Hospitality Industry.

Compensation:

· This is a full-time position. Hours may vary on occasion due to golf and member events.

· Starting salary will range between $45,000 and $50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

· Holiday bonus.

· Medical, dental, health, vision, life and short- and long-term disability insurance.

· 401 (K) with employer match.
