What are the responsibilities and job description for the Timekeeper/Billing Assistant position at Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis, LLP?
We are currently seeking a full-time in-house time / billing assistant to join our Accounting Department in Iselin, NJ. As a member of the Accounting Department you will be responsible for processing client bills, answers billing inquiries and assists in the monitoring and follow-up of related billing functions as directed by the Director of Accounting. Ideal candidates must be familiar with billing methods and processes, as well as adept in billing software.
The Position's Essential Duties and Requirements : Accurately record billable and non-billable hours spent on client cases, ensuring adequate time tracking for accurate invoicing and generating monthly reports. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Sort and disseminate billing books and financial reports.
- Perform billing edits and create draft bills, then final bills.
- Process electronic billing.
- Opening new files, rate changes, and conflicts.
- Works closely with Account Receivable staff to provide clients, billing attorneys and secretaries with up-to-date and accurate billing and payment information.
- Monitor status of billing, i.e., what has been turned in for drafting and finalizing and be responsible for ensuring that assigned billing attorneys and secretaries what still needs to be drafted and billed.
- Maintain and update special instructions related to billing attorney’s needs in generating their bills.
- Maintain official client billing files and keep filing current.

Education : High School (or equivalent) required.

Salary : $60,000 - $63,000
