What's This Job All About?
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing fixed assets, managing accounts receivables, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and assisting with annual budgeting process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate with division leaders to maintain accurate records of fixed assets. This includes tracking costs for ongoing capital projects by category.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Complete month-end account reconciliations (with intercompany lead).
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting package, including consolidated financial statements.
- Perform detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, and recommend solutions.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tax filings, audits and coordinating with external CPA's as needed.
- Review invoices and contracts for capital/construction projects to verify accuracy in billing/contacted amounts.
- Oversee accounts receivable to ensure outstanding balances are paid timely.
- Act as backup for payroll processing.
- Support management in decision-making by providing financial data and analysis.
- Assist with developing processes and procedures to promote efficient and effective operations.
- Assist Controller with ad-hoc projects.
What you need for this position
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field required.
- Knowledge of financial close including knowledge of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement) and GAAP knowledge.
- A/P and A/R accounting functions.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting (required).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Sage Fixed Assets system.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
