Responsibilities
- Coordinate the operations and implementation of the County's Camp Spearhead Weekend Program.
- Create, publish, and distribute schedules, program information, and related materials.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
- Process registrations and maintain updated medical information in the database.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate with participants, family members, volunteers, and venues regarding programs.
- Plan, manage, and execute activities and operations for Camp Spearhead Residential Summer Camp.
- Supervise and assist with camper care and camp programming, including waterfront and pool activities.
- Oversee the Camper Worker Program and ensure the safety and care of all campers and staff.
- Serve as an Administrator on Duty during camp sessions.
- Supervise regular and temporary staff, including planning, coordinating, and reviewing work.
- Evaluate training needs, provide instruction, and conduct employee performance evaluations.
- Organize, prioritize, and assign work to ensure adequate coverage and control.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment and supervision, including processing applications and conducting orientations.
- Maintain and coordinate the maintenance of vehicles used for program activities.
- Monitor program accounts to ensure funding and compliance with budget parameters.
- Oversee the implementation of inclusive and accessible facilities, programs, and activities.
- Perform other related duties as required, including weekend and overnight duties.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in implementing sports programming for special needs populations.
- Valid South Carolina driver's license.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Lifeguard certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
