Job Summary
This position provides on-the-job training and work experience for the Intern and collects high accuracy locational information for Greenville Water's geographic information system. In addition, the GIS Intern will learn about career opportunities within Greenville Water's Engineering Department.
Essential Job Functions
Current college course work and experience using GPS or other surveying equipment, preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid SC driver's license with a good driving record.

Essential Job Functions
- Plans and routes daily GPS activities, based on dataset provided by Supervisor.
- Locates water meters using descriptions from field-based application and locator tools. May require digging.
- Uses Trimble survey-grade GPS equipment and ArcGIS Collector application to collect high accuracy locational information and update attributes.
- Using GPS equipment, GPS meter and enter general information about meter.
- Download GPS data at the end of each workday.
- Process GPS data using Trimble software.
- Meet with engineering team members to discuss activities and potential issues.
